HELP - Jim's Story
Jim's Story falls under the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity umbrella

"HELP - Jim's Story" has been set up as a fund under the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) umbrella with the aim of educating, raising awareness and providing a deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that affect wellbeing; as well as providing people with the practical skills and knowledge needed to spot the triggers and signs of poor mental health and give people the confidence to step in and support someone where needed.
We all may experience poor mental health through our lives, however through awareness and education we can increase our knowledge around mental health and recognise symptoms in ourselves and in each other.
No one should have to face it alone.
Jim's Story Gift Collection
HELP - Jim's Story' has been established as a separate fund under the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) umbrella. The aim of the fund is to educate, raise awareness and give people a deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that affect wellbeing; as well as provide people with the practical skills and knowledge needed to spot the triggers and signs of poor mental health and give people the confidence to step in and support someone where needed.
Our first step on this journey has been to fund mental health awareness courses. These courses are provided by Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA England). By Christmas of 2021, we aim to have trained over one hundred people. That will one hundred more people with increased awareness and understanding of their and others mental health.
Going forward HELP aims to train as many people as possible in mental health awareness and in the future to provide further and more in-depth training to create HELP ambassadors around the Royal Navy. HELP also aims to become involved in Mental health awareness week promoting mental health throughout all dockyards and naval establishments.
